Say No to drugs, Healthy family is without drugs, Drugs Thrills but kills, Dont  choose drug, choose-life
 Are the slogans which were displayed in the candle rally taken out on the occasion of World Anti-Drugs Day.

 Sikkim Rehabilitation and Detoxification Society (SRDS) observed Anti-Drug Day at the premises of Paljor Namgyal GirlsSchool (PNGS) today. In the occasion N K Pradhan Area MLA, Gangtok was present as the Chief Guest. Akshay Sacchdeva (DIG Range), Rudra Paudyal (Director Education, HRDD), and the other government officers along with the students from the Gangtok and around were also present to show their support to the cause of creating an awareness regarding drugs in the region. The students from different school were also present and a special team of 18 students from Korea were also there.

 `DONT BREAK THE HEART BREAK THE DRUGS HABIT was the theme of the programme. A special cricket and volleyball tournament was played to mark the occasion. In the 20-20 cricket match played between the boys from SRDS and the outsiders, SRDS boys were, the winners. The-volleyball match was played among the girls PNGS Modern and West Point school PNGS and West Point reached finaIs in which PNGS beat the other team by 2-1.

 A huge candle was also lighted in the occasion in the memory of the people who died because of the heavy dose of unwanted drugs.
 A candle light rally was also taken out from the premises of the school to Gangtok town at evening. In this rally, more than 100 hundred students along with the chief guest, other dignitaries and the Korean students were participated. The students displayed anti-drugs placards in the rally with an objective of spreading awareness among the people of Gangtok about drugs.

 While addressing to the gathering, DIG Range, Akshay Sachdeva said, most of the drugs addict use to say that while taking the drugs gives the enjoyment, which is very wrong concept. But the positive people enjoy when they give something positive for the welfare of society. So We all have to stay away from the dreadful things, unwanted materials, and the anti social elements. DIG rang also highlighted on the Sikkim Anti-Drug Act 2006

 Speaking from the desk of chief guest, area MLA, NK Pradhan said that, million of the people were spoiling their life by drug addiction, which is very redundant sign. So we all, have to aware about the drug addiction.
